The website of the company selling the merchandise has a nice little page on the history of the posters citing this undergraduate dissertation from 1997 (http://ww2poster.co.uk/phd-research/undergraduate-dissertation-1997/)as a source. The author went on to complete a PhD (http://ww2poster.co.uk/phd-research/)in the same topic.

This has been a nice trip through British history on the homefront from a different angle.
