Random Crashes

So, I can't even play the beta now. I get ingame, run around a bit and then I'll get a crash for no apparent reason.

Every time I've tried to play in the past few days it's crashed within at most 60 seconds of gameplay, usually about 10 seconds.

have you updated punk buster that's what most peoples fix is after reading forums

Thanks, tried that and couldn't get punkbuster to update at all, errors all over the shop. I'm reinstalling the game.

I only found the correct pb folder to delete AFTER I uninstalled the game, but what the hey - it's too late now :P

Reinstall didn't work, I've deleted every punkbuster folder and tried updating then, STILL I get errors that tell me 'failed to convert' etc.

Nothing on google seems to help, guess I've wasted my money if this isn't fixed.


Error #0111: ERROR: Could not convert C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\Temp\pbs5FCO.tmp to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\redorchestra2beta\pb\ dll\ws001833.dll during HTM conversion.

P.S. I'm trying this now:

1. Delete all PB folders
2. Run the PB setup file provided inside the redorchestra2beta folder (that went well)
3. Now I'm going to try the update again, as the folders haven't been recreated by that .exe in step 2.

Grr, this didn't work. Still, it only appears to be that the SERVER version isn't installing, the client version appears up-to-date so perhaps my crashes are caused by something else?

I got to play just fine for a few minutes before (after reinstall of the game) and the game crashed during the sound of a grenade exploding...maybe?

try updating graphics and sound drivers see if it changes any thing a long shot but it might work

If I update my graphics drivers, everything else breaks - just ask Jazy for an anecdote, we have the same card + problem :(

My cooling is very much taken care of, this didn't happen until the recent patch.

This never happens, but occasionally my screen just goes black and the PC stops responding (probably a memory issue?) but it's so rare that I don't care. I can't see that being related to RO2.exe dumping on me.

The fixes on here (don't know which one, I did them all except for the 'problems launching game' ones) worked for me and I can now play again :D
