> impressions, what are yours ?
well besides all of the server browser lag and crashing it has a really good feel to it great potential for teamwork has working voip too, just have to get use to the game modes. But so far the game plays well weapons are good and the use of cover i like and im now a tank legend lol. There are a few little things need sort but no major things apart from server browser but still time to find problems.
- Server Browser is super slow for me. Every time it refreshes its like the game freezes then loads some servers then freezes again until it has all the servers.
- The Compass on higher resolutions is pretty small and makes it hard to see map icons and teammates.
- I might just be dumb but I am still trying to figure out the colored names and who is in my squad.
Overall it seems pretty good the VOIP works, it looks great, and the animations look amazing.

after 30 mins play
+ looks fine graphically
+ weapons feel great, feel realistic and authentic in hand
+ pace is of BF2 or a bit slower
+ damage feels fine and appropriate to the game, usually a one shot kill, but sometimes not
+ maps have multiple routes through buildings, so not a chokepoint meat grinder
+ can spawn on squad lead
+ teamwide voip works
- browser is slow, painfully slow
- game is crashy at loading map from browser
- no squad voip (disappointing disappointing disappointing, hopefully this is in release, deje vu, have I said those words before)
No squad voip is worrisome indeed. Nice write-up, keep them coming :)

Lets hope it is just a bug.

just tested voip with 1er and its teamwide voip and its loud in a harsh way, needs work from the devs
Right, on the same server we tested VOIP at Silver; I later discovered that it was SERVER-wide VOIP. This will have been set by the server host with a console command (Unreal Engine 3 uses RCON commands which I am familiar with).
Our experiment has been rendered void.

That is excellent news! I'm editing my .ini file's key config now! :)
EDIT: No I'm not, I'm awkwardly getting used to pressing P -_-'
Does it work? Is squad voip now confirmed? If so, that's great news indeed :)

Awesome, good to hear.
Can you guys give anymore details on the gameplay. How is territory compared to the usual conquest? And what about the other gamemodes?
I've heard that the squad-menu-configuration can be a bit confusing?

Well I'm still in a my very first impressions. After like 15-20 min of gameplay.
There are a few things I'm not too impressed with but could overlook them if the gameplay is a proper teamplay-type-thing :)
The keylayout is overly complicated and needs some heavy remapping for me haha
Haven't quite understood the squad or the respawn system - need some more experience
For me I'm a bit "shocked" by the animation and "texture-adaption" of the characters (especially when they are inside). But again ... can be overlooked if the gameplay is solid.
Some more experience needed! :)
I played a round of something and was totally confused, the controls seem backwardish so they will all be remapped because tripwire seems to not believe in "standard controls" for games. ;)
The game looked good, the characters in game seemed out of place in a graphical sense, especially indoors, not a big deal, I guess I just need to get really used to the controls then see how it all feels like.
Good to hear squad voip can work server side. ;)
The territory control mode is similar to conquest but different if you know what i mean, on the map there are dotted boxes the map i have played had 3 down the middle and then bases. But it is flag by flag bases i think on most maps but not 100% sure, you have to have 3 people at least with in the cap zone which are big to big sometimes just my opinion. There also firefight which is just regular death match the first to make there opponent reach 0 tickets wins. There is another game mode its similar to territory but one side is defending and one side attacking the attacking side has to take the objective then on to the next one, but if you die you don't spawn in again until the next wave which is a couple of minutes a max of 3 waves or your team take the objective where you will spawn in and on to the next objective. There is a sever with just a tank vs tank death match.
hope this helps
I played for an hour or so last night, just mucking around to get a feel for the game.
Initial performance is quite good on my oldish PC. Medium settings no visible lag.
The look and feel of the maps, I played apartment and the snowy one across the square is nice. There's obvious chokepoints that need to be locked down, but plenty of flanking (vertical & horizontal)
Managed to join a squad and spawn on SL... in a beta.
The pace of the game feels like PR v4 (before it went from tactical shooter to mil sim), there's action to be had be running and gunning out in the open will result in a swift death.
Someone was using voip on one server I was on, but there was no visual notification of who was to talking and on what channel.
The kick back on the ppsh is horrific. Many's the time I sneaked up on 2 or 3 Germans only to spray the entire clip above of head.

I was playing realism mode tonight and quite digging it !
What's the difference between that and relaxed realism mode?

got kicked for pb, downloaded pbsetup v3.4, even though I had that before, the new v3.4 pbsetup had RO2 in the game list and it updated the pb files

the new patch has 4 maps and fps performance has dropped, I have been reading on the tripwire forums and many people are having performance issues and lower FPS, even people with better hardware than me. Its beta problems of optimization. I ready a thread where people were saying they are getting 40 fps and their GPU never goes above 70% usage and their CPU never goes above 40% usage. So the engine needs optimization.

Thanks Silver! I discovered that you actually don't need to download a new pbsetup v3.4 if you have that installed though. Just check for updates, it will download a new games list that will contain RO2 and you can then add that. Worked for me. ;)
